about

With the new album "Red Winter," P.U.M.A. explores the universe of ambient music in every hidden corner, condensing decades of styles, experiments, and compositional techniques in just over 40 minutes. Behind the seemingly tranquil and pleasing-to-the-ear music that rarely "raises its voice," there lies a meticulous crafting of every subtle sonic passage. The attentive and curious listener, while experiencing Red Winter, will navigate through watercolors of Enian memories, strokes of dark ambient, improvisational abstractions, electro-noise mutations, aural isolationism, shifts of concrete music for science fiction films, and reminiscences of post-industrial sonic landscapes. A brilliant example of musical synthesis in the third millennium.

This is Darkness:
P.U.M.A. is a project of sound artist Luca Valisi with contributions from Monica Calanni Rindina, and here they explore various types of “musique concrete” and drone. Utilising synths, field recordings, echoing voices, sequencing, and a large degree of audio processing, the resulting album contains elements of dark ambient, drone, and electro-noise. This is quite simply breath-taking, with each play of the album providing an incredible listening experience of the highest order. One for fans of haunting, ethereal music with an electronic edge. Fantastic stuff!

P.U.M.A. is the Italian electro/noise project created by Luca Valisi in collaboration with Monica Calanni Rindina, a designer, writer, and event creator better known as “Mamolifestyle.” Luca Valisi also serves as the bassist and guitarist for the bands Mechanics For Dreamers, L’Océan, and Ludmila, having performed in over 300 concerts across Europe.

The music from P.U.M.A. has been released by several labels, including Xonar Records (Italy), Placenta Recordings (US), and Spheredelic (Germany). Described as a blend of Lustmord's stripped-down restlessness without the ambient component and a Badalamenti influenced by listening to “Kollaps” by Einsturzende Neubauten."
